WE ARE SPECIALISTS IN GLOBAL SOLUTIONS FOR INDUSTRY
TRUSTWORTHY TECHNOLOGY AT THE FOREFRONT OF THE SECTOR
Over the years, Pontevedresa Industrial has become established as a leader in transforming glass for a wide range of multinationals and SMEs in various sectors of high technological value, including the transport industry, and lifts and escalators.
In 2015, our company reached a technological peak by being the first in Europe to incorporate a line of curved tempered glass with modular geometry and the capacity to process ultra‐thin thicknesses of up to 3 mm, in response to the needs of the automotive, naval and rail industries.
Given the growing complexity of the technical environments facing our clients, we are increasingly aware that our role as a supplier of critical components can benefit their competitiveness. Quality, competent production processes and efficient logistics are vital factors for any strategic supplier.
To that end, at Pontevedresa Industrial we concentrate all our efforts on developing and improving a value chain that is perfectly adapted to the needs of each industrial project. We create highly customized or standardized innovative products, on a large or small scale, using cutting‐edge glass technology. Our own logistics network allows for the perfect integration of a highly flexible, lean manufacturing system.
The power of a group that has made history transforming glass and techniques.
In 1959, Francisco Barbeito Castro set up Cristalería Pontevedresa S.A., laying the foundations for a family business that would triumph, thanks to a remarkable ability to face the unknown.
A passion for unexplored technologies became a determining factor for the future of glass. In 1960, a silver nitrate solution was patented; in 1989, the first line of flat tempered glass was produced in northern Spain, and in 2015, cutting‐edge technologies for ultra‐thin curved tempered glass were launched to meet the contemporary needs of the automotive, naval and rail industries, among others.
On this journey through the fascinating history of glass, the workforce has been totally committed to finding pioneering solutions to the challenges raised by more than 5,000 client glass professionals, in industry and architecture from all over Europe, Latin America, Africa and the Middle East.
